We strive to give real life experiential data on equipment, travel, lodging and activities. Our name developed from a life-changing trip to Vancouver, Canada. While seeing the sights of British Columbia, we realized the life well lived is that in the majesty of nature. The Black Tusk served as a banner for our small group watching over us and reinforcing the profound change in mindset we had experienced.
What makes us different from other websites hosting reviews is that we hope we can provide answers on what we actually use, and what we’ve actually experienced. We don’t plan to do many “shootouts” comparing multiple models of products, because if it is something we have chosen to use, chances are we have already done that research. A life of adventure, honestly, requires gear.
To live simply is of paramount importance, so the gear you choose should be that which serves its purpose, does it well and does it well for a long time. We hope we can, in a small way, be a helpful guide service along the road.
